How surplus escheats here
When a tax-foreclosure or mortgage-foreclosure sale generates a surplus that the former owner never claims, the funds follow the path described in escheat-and-unclaimed-property: after the disbursing office’s own claim window runs, the residue is reported and delivered to the State Treasurer as a dormant intangible, held custodially (custody, not title). For Oklahoma-specific surplus mechanics, the disbursing office (county treasurer/court clerk), and any upstream forfeiture deadline, see oklahoma Module 3.
The Treasurer’s office states the service is free with no deadline to claim —
consistent with the custodial model. The exact statutory dormancy period and cite under the
Oklahoma Uniform Unclaimed Property Act (60 O.S. § 651 et seq.) are needs_verification

Claiming
Search by name at https://yourmoney.ok.gov/ , then file a claim online or by mailed form. The owner, estate, or lawful heir may claim. Proof typically required: government-issued photo ID, Social Security number, and documentation linking the claimant to the reported address/property; estates and heirs submit additional probate or heirship documentation. There is no fee to file directly with the State.
▸ For Investors / Operators. Surplus reaching the Treasurer’s custodial fund does not revive a redemption right or cloud title acquired at a county-treasurer resale — it only reroutes money owed to the former owner. Confirm on oklahoma whether surplus is forfeited at the county level before escheat.
▸ For Former Owners. If a tax or mortgage foreclosure on your former Oklahoma property left a surplus you never claimed, search https://yourmoney.ok.gov/ by your name and prior names/addresses. Filing directly is free with no deadline. If the claim involves an estate, multiple heirs, or contested ownership and you want it handled end-to-end, .
