SNM II Corp. v. Tango Yankee, LLC (2026)
Facts and holding
After a repair-payment dispute, the repairer moved the owner’s aircraft to another operator’s storage space. Liens led to a January 2022 auction to an affiliated company and subsequent resale. The Appellate Court reversed the storage operator’s CUTPA liability: the repairer was the aircraft’s legal possessor, whose storage request sufficed under § 49-92g without a separate owner agreement. Full opinion, operative release March 17, 2026.
Limits and currentness
Notice findings were not at issue; conversion rulings were unchallenged; the court did not reach the alternative causation argument. Note 11 separately addresses avoidable injury and the small excess-charge claim. This is not a lender-priority, universal sale-validity or clean-title holding. The full 2026 opinion was retrieved; no comprehensive later-treatment certification is asserted. Opinion, notes 5, 8, 11–12.
